FFF 2014 programme announced

FFF is all about film. Or is it food? Fortunately, we have a lot of both. This year’s programme is now online! Browse through the line-up of films, workshops and events – many of which are suitable for our international visitors – and get ready for 9, 10 and 11 May.

Films
Around 40 shorts, feature films and documentaries cover all aspects of food and eating. Highlights include the beautifully short My Name Is Salt, about salt production in the Indian desert, the multi-award-winning documentary A River Changes Course, on the impact of globalisation in rural Cambodia, and the crowd-pleasing rom-com Love and Lemons.

All films are screened in their original language. A number of them are English spoken and all have English subtitles.

Workshops
If the food on the big screen has whet your appetite, dig into one of our food workshops. Eating and drinking of course require no special language skills, but a number of workshops are particularly suitable for non-Dutch speakers. Learn how to make a mean Swedish smörrebröd with Rikard Andersson, cook a perfect egg with Michelin-star chef Chris Naylor and hear from Ben Reade, the Nordic Food Lab’s culinary R&D man, why we could soon all be eating insects.

Free events
Our food system can and should be better. Each year we organise a series of free events focusing on the world’s most pressing food issues. Join us as we discuss food security with Edie Mukiibi (vice president of Slow Food) and hear why American ‘rock star’ farmer Joel Salatin – this year’s keynote speaker – believes we need to go beyond organic.

Don’t forget that there’s also the FFF Restaurant, headed again by top chef Joris Bijdendijk, a food market and some hopping parties.

Tickets go on sale at 12.00 on 12 April.
