Voorstelling: Saturday 10 May 12:00 | Mister Kitchen

Jiaozi (dumplings in English), are indispensable in China. Originating as early as the Han dynasty, the snack-filled dough is a fundamental part of Chinese cuisine. Whoever wants to understand the Chinese food culture, must taste Jiaozi. Acclaimed dumpling lady, Maggie makes them to order.

Each Jiaozi is made from a thin circular piece of dough, which is then filled with fresh vegetables such as cabbage and pork. From which, the dough is folded so that it has the shape of an auspicious half moon. During this workshop, you'll learn the techniques for rolling and folding the dough, and how to make a special sauce that compliments these dumplings. All concluded with dipping and savouring.

Not only is Maggie the master of Jiaozi, she also knows everything there is to know about Chinese food culture, and its history. In the Netherlands, we've only experienced a small part of this kitchen, often dishes have been "Dutchised" over the years. During the workshop, Maggie will talk extensively about traditional Chinese cuisine, and let you taste all kinds of goodies from this very versatile kitchen.
