Wild Boar highlights the peculiar relationship between wild boars and people. In this Dutch short, we see how the boars impinge on our territory and our sometimes surprising response to the invasion.

The wild boar, which last century had almost disappeared from the Netherlands, has been reintroduced. The population is growing and the animals are straying more frequently from wooded areas.

Exciting, dangerous, wild and mysterious, they are also a nuisance and make a tasty sausage or ham. In the wild, it’s eat or be eaten and as humans we get to choose which.

Willem Baptist takes an almost poetic look at the peculiar relationship between humans and animals and reveals the absurdity of our behaviour.

Wild Boar is part of the Pigs shorts block and has been selected for the FFF Shorts Food Film Competition 2014.
