Ramkishan Gawlani and his son Shaum scraped a living selling street food from a tiny stall in Jodhpur, India. That all changed with a listing in Lonely Planet. Scores of local and international customers now flock to ‘The Omelette Shop’, which goes through some 1,500 eggs a day.

Eggs feature in cuisines around the world. Sunny side up, poached, scrambled, fried or boiled: the options are endless, as they are in India, where vegetarians, fitness freaks and tourists find their way to the one and only Lonely Planet Omelette Shop.

In the Eating the Whole Egg workshop, you will learn how to cook the perfect egg. Prefer to have someone else make your omelette for you? The first omeletterie in the Netherlands is located in de Pijp in Amsterdam.

The Lonely Planet Omelette Shop is part of the Hodgepodge shorts block and will have its European premiere at the Food Film Festival. The short has also been selected for the FFF Short Food Film Competition 2014.
