Mumbai Dabbawalla

Mumbai Dabbawalla

Jean Beddington | 90 min |
Voorstelling: Sunday 18 March 11:00 | Cybersoek

Daily, more than 400.000 hot lunches will be delivered to working people in Mumbai by so called Dabbawalla's - the lunchbox bringers. Want to learn how to prepare lovely Indian lunch to bring to work yourself? Please join in!

Workshop host Jean Beddington was born in Derby, England and acquired the art of Indian cooking when she lived in India. Nowadays, Jean runs her restaurant Beddingtons in Amsterdam, which serves a very international cuisine. With very good Indian influences, to say the least...

For this year’s Food Film Festival, Jean will share her knowledge of Indian cuisine. Aided by adventurous festival visitors she will prepare a typical Indian tiffin - a special lunchbox - with a host of gorgeous Indian delicacies.  Would you like to join in and fill your very own tiffin with Jean? Then don’t hesitate to sign up now!

This workshop will be in Dutch, but since Jean is originally from England, we think it would not be a problem if English speakers want to join.

Please note that this workshop is slightly more expensive than most of the other ones, but in return you’ll be given a genuine Indian tiffin (these are examples - similar but not the same). Attend the Mumbai Dabbawalla workshop and learn how to bring your own sustainable lunch to work, Dabbawalla style. Make your colleagues envious of your awesome containers, or even better, share your lunch with others!
